Will's Cert 3 testing
Completed testing:
- A K1275 casing and simulated mass was used to estimate the CG.
No recovery was loaded so this was a worst case balance for this motor.
CG was well ahead of manufacturer's recommended minimum.
- Tested shear pin vs ejection charge size for apogee and main. Separation was quite energetic and pins sheared cleanly.
- Test flight with
Aerotech K1275
was completely successful.
The stack weighed 61 pounds 17 oz.
The altimeter reported an altitude of 855 feet.
Descent rate of the nosecone and airframe was almost identical.
- Cert 3 flight with the Loki Research M1882 was successful.
Reported altimeter was 3604 feet.
